We now email you when a renewal payment fails

Four new emails walk you through a failed renewal — and Settings → Billing always shows exactly where your subscription stands.

Until now, a failed card renewal was silent. Your subscription would quietly enter a retry cycle and the first you'd hear about it was when something stopped working.

That's fixed. A failed renewal now triggers a short sequence of emails to the account owner:

  • Payment failed — sent the moment the first attempt fails, with a link to update your payment method.
  • Retry reminder — sent before the final attempt, so there's still time to act.
  • Payment recovered — sent as soon as a retry succeeds, so you know it's settled.
  • Subscription suspended — sent only if every retry fails.

We deliberately don't email you on every single retry. Four near-identical failure notices in four days is noise, and noise is how important email ends up in spam.

Your subscription status is now always visible

Two new surfaces show the same thing, so you never have to guess:

  • A banner in the app appears whenever your subscription needs attention, on every page.
  • A status panel in Settings → Billing is always on — it describes the current state in plain language, whether that's active, in a trial, past due, or scheduled to cancel.

One honest limitation: during a retry cycle we can tell you a payment failed and that access continues "over the next few days", but not the exact hour access would end. We're working with our payments provider to expose that date.
