Account & Data Deletion

Overview

Deleting your entire account permanently removes all of its data — your profile and login, team members, business profile, WhatsApp Business configuration, message templates and automations, contacts, conversation history, media, and analytics.

Important: account deletion happens after a 30-day grace period during which it can be reversed. Once the grace period ends, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Export anything you want to keep before you start.

1. Delete Your Entire Account

Available to account admins from within the dashboard:

1. Log in to your Lynkist dashboard at lynkist.io
2. Go to Settings → Account
3. Scroll to the Danger Zone section at the bottom
4. Click "Delete account"
5. Enter your password and type DELETE to confirm
6. Click "Permanently delete account"

What happens when you confirm:

• Immediately: the account is frozen — no one can log in.
• Your subscription is cancelled at the end of the current billing period, so you keep the access you have already paid for and are not charged again.
• Your WhatsApp number(s) are scheduled for release at the end of their billing cycle (see section 3).
• For 30 days the account can be fully restored (see "Changed your mind?" below).
• After 30 days all data is permanently purged.

Changed Your Mind?

During the 30-day grace period you can restore the account. Log back in and you'll be shown a "Reactivate account" option — one click resumes your subscription, reconnects your WhatsApp number(s), and returns everything to normal. After 30 days, reactivation is no longer possible and you would need to create a new account.

2. Remove a Team Member

To delete a single user's login and access without deleting the whole account (admins only):

1. Go to Settings → Team
2. Open the menu (⋯) next to the member you want to remove
3. Click "Remove" and confirm

This permanently deletes that member's profile and login. You cannot remove the account's last remaining admin. A member who still owns a connected WhatsApp account must have it transferred or deleted first.

3. Delete a WhatsApp Connection

You can disconnect or permanently delete a WhatsApp number from Settings → WhatsApp. Because WhatsApp numbers are billed per cycle, deactivation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle:

• Disconnect schedules the number's release at the end of its billing cycle. The number stays live and usable until then, and every record is kept so you can reconnect in one click. It is reversible until the cycle ends.
• Delete also releases the number at the cycle end, but then permanently removes its records (templates, phone numbers, and configuration for that WABA). If the number has already been released, it is deleted immediately.

Deleting your entire account (section 1) removes all WhatsApp connections automatically.

What Happens to Your Data

• During the grace period: your data is retained but access is disabled, so the deletion can be reversed.
• After the grace period: your data is permanently removed from our active systems. Where residual copies exist in system backups, they are purged on the normal backup-rotation cycle.
• Legal exceptions: a limited set of records (for example, invoices and payment records required for tax and accounting) may be retained for the period required by law.

Before You Delete

We recommend these steps first:

• Export your data: go to Settings → Account → Export account data. One click produces a ZIP of open CSV files covering contacts, conversations, full message history, campaigns, templates, your team and your invoices. It's available on every plan, and it keeps working during the 30-day grace period — but not after.
• Back up templates: keep copies of message templates and automations.
• Notify your customers if you're switching platforms.

Your WhatsApp Business Account with Meta

Important: deleting your Lynkist account releases your number from our platform but does not delete your underlying WhatsApp Business Account or phone-number registration with Meta — those are managed separately. To delete them, contact WhatsApp Business Support and follow Meta's procedures to deregister your business phone number.

Prefer We Handle It?

If you can't access your dashboard or would rather we process the deletion for you, contact us and we'll verify your identity and complete the request:

• WhatsApp +91-9405300033 with "I want to delete my account", or
• Email support@lynkist.io with the subject "Account Deletion Request", including your registered name, email, and phone number.

We process verified requests within 5–7 business days and confirm once complete.
