Product Catalog
Create a WhatsApp product catalog in Lynkist, add products, turn on the in-chat storefront and cart, and share products in conversations and campaigns.
A catalog lets you showcase and sell your products right inside WhatsApp. Customers browse product cards — image, price, description — send an enquiry, and (if you enable it) add items to a cart and place an order, all without leaving the chat.
You can build your catalog directly in Lynkist — no Facebook Commerce Manager required — or connect an existing Meta catalog if you already have one.
Still rolling out. Catalog is not switched on for every workspace yet, so it may not appear in your sidebar. The guide is here so you know what's coming — check What's New for the release, or ask us if you need it sooner.
First — let Meta enable catalogs on your number
Catalog access is a permission Meta grants to your WhatsApp Business Account, and it is off by default. Until it's granted, creating a catalog fails.
Lynkist detects this and steers you into the fix rather than showing you a raw error: Catalog offers an enable action that opens a hosted Meta grant page in a new tab. Approve the catalog permission there, come back to Lynkist, and refresh the page.
This is a one-time step per WhatsApp number. If catalogs already worked on this number before you connected it to Lynkist, you'll skip straight past it.
Creating your catalog
With catalogs enabled, open Catalog. If you don't have one yet, you'll see two options:
- Create your catalog in Lynkist — give it a name and you're done. Add and manage products right here.
- Connect an existing Meta catalog — link a catalog you already maintain in Meta Commerce Manager.
Once created, the catalog workspace opens with two tabs: Products and Settings.
Adding products
On the Products tab, choose Add product and fill in:
- Image URL — a link to the product photo (e.g.
https://…/product.jpg). - Product name — e.g. Classic White Sneakers.
- SKU / Retailer ID — your own product identifier, e.g.
SNEAKER-001. Keep these unique and stable; they're how a product is referenced everywhere. - Price and Currency — e.g.
15000andINR. - Sale price (optional) — a discounted price shown alongside the original.
- Description (optional) — a short line customers read on the product card.
Use clear, well-lit images and accurate prices — the product card is what the customer decides from, right inside the chat.
Storefront & cart settings
The Settings tab controls how the catalog behaves on your WhatsApp number. These apply to your business number and take effect immediately:
- Show catalog storefront — displays the storefront icon so customers can browse your whole catalog inside the chat. Off by default — turn it on when you're ready to let people browse.
- Cart & orders — lets customers add products to a cart and send you an order in one message.
Sharing products in conversations
Once you have products, you can send them where the conversation already is:
- From the shared inbox — reply to “do you have this?” with the exact product card instead of a link. You can send a single product, a multi-product list, or the full catalog message.
- In campaigns — attach a product or a product list to a broadcast so a promotion arrives as something the customer can act on immediately.
Keeping it in sync
If you connect a store through Integrations, your catalog can stay current as products, prices, and stock change — so you're not re-uploading by hand.
