You can now pay a renewal that failed
A failed auto-debit used to retry itself and fail the same way. There is now a Pay now button that settles the invoice directly.
When a renewal payment failed, we retried the same auto-debit on a schedule. If the reason was a temporary one — no balance that morning — a retry worked. If the reason was the mandate itself, being cancelled at the bank or expired, every retry failed in exactly the same way, and there was nothing you could press to fix it. You waited for a sequence of failures you already knew the outcome of.
Settings → Billing now raises a one-time payment against the outstanding invoice. Paying it settles the invoice and restores the subscription immediately — it does not wait for the next retry.
It finds you rather than waiting to be found
A failed renewal used to be a "Past Due" badge on a settings tab nobody opens unless they already suspect something. It is now a banner that travels with you through the app, carrying the amount, the date, and the same Pay now button. If your workspace is already paused, the banner cannot be dismissed — there is nothing else to do in the app until it is settled, and hiding that helps nobody.
You will also have had an email, at each step. Those started in August.
One honest limit
Paying this way clears the invoice you owe now. It does not repair the mandate underneath, so if the mandate is the thing that broke, the next renewal will need the same treatment until you set up a new one — which the billing page will take you through.
